Dot NAME Domain Names

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain extension is the only one supposed to be for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. At first, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered 3rd-level names remained running.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registration service provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finished. There are no special terms on who can acquire a .NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.

The .NAME generic domain extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no additional cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the proper spelling in your native language.
